Gutter Selected for July's Wrestler of the Month

Since his debut in Pure Pro Wrestling 5 months ago, former TNA X Division Champion Petey Williams has systematically defeated every top contender PPW has to offer; until now. In an upset of unprecedented parallels, 13 year Michigan independent veteran Gutter scored a convincing victory over Williams to become the new PPW Franchise Champion. Fans were in awe as Gutter and Williams battled back and forth with one devastating maneuver after another while the coveted Franchise Championship hung in the balance. But in end it was Gutter hitting the “Gutter Cutter” which lead to the surprising victory, the Franchise championship, and finally, the honor of being selected July’s Wrestler of the Month.
Gutter made his debut in professional wrestling in 1997 after being trained by the original Canadian Destroyer at Can Am in Windsor, Ontario. Upon finishing his training, Gutter traveled and wrestled in many of the top promotions in independent professional wrestling in the Midwest, East Coast, & Canada. Gutter also furthered his abilities by obtaining training in British, Japanese, & Lucha Libre styles. Gutter has had many memorable feuds in the past including bouts with Chris Sabin, Nunzio, Steve Corino, Robert Roode, Julio Dinero, & more recently, Petey Williams.
In the past Gutter has only performed for Pure Pro Wrestling on a handful of occasions, but now Gutter plans on staying put in PPW and making an impact as the new Franchise Champion. PPW’s Matt Burns caught up with Gutter on the way to the gym. “You know I’ve fought in PPW a few times and I have to say that I’m impressed with the competition. Once I heard Petey Williams was the champ, I just had to get a crack at him. You see Petey and I have met before over the years and he’s always gotten the best of me. I have always felt like I could beat him, the hype never impressed me much. Winning that title in Sandusky was vindication for all my hard work in this business. I feel like things have really come full circle now and I’m stoked about this championship and I can’t wait to see who PPW is going to throw my way.” Said Gutter.
It no secret who PPW is going to throw at the newly crowned PPW Franchise Champion. Chris Korvis, the longest reigning Franchise Champion in PPW history is scheduled to return to action on July 31 after missing over 4 months due to a torn rotator cup in his left shoulder. Normally tears this size require at least 6-8 months recovery time, however Korvis has been rehabbing reportedly over 12 hours a day in order to return to the ring by July. Doctors have evaluated and they have deemed him fit to return to the ring. With Korvis coming back he’s got only one thing in mind. The Franchise Championship. PPW’s Matt Burns caught up with Korvis after he learned the news of Gutter becoming champion. “You know, I’ve got to say that I’m disappointed that Williams dropped the ball and let that never-was-been Gutter beat him. I mean this is the same man that won the TNA X Division Championship, this is a man who was Scott Steiner’s apprentice, this is the same man that defeated the best champion PPW has ever seen; ME!. And what does he go and do? He loses to that pitiful Gutter. You know what I think? I think Little Petey heard I was coming back and that I had my sites on him and he got scared like a little baby. I bet he lost that belt on purpose just so he wouldn’t have to face me! But that’s okay though because I’ll have no problem imagining that Gutter is little Petey while I pound his face into the matt. Hey Gutter, I’ll see you soon.” Said Korvis.
Its no secret that PPW’s return to Waterford for the second third annual Rollcall of Champions will be the hottest ticket in Waterford come the weekend of July 31, just like its no secret that Chris Korvis is coming back and he’s thirsty for gold. Can the veteran Gutter fend off the attack of the ever vicious former champ Korvis? Only time will tell as Rollcall of Champions is right around the corner.
